Welcome to my own thoughts and ramblings as I weight changes I can make to my new story idea. Today, I am debating the inclusion of the majority of the main cast, or at least the two main characters, being university students. I figured that because it takes place in Massachussetts, it would be great to have the world-famous school system from that state represented in the story. However, that would mean glorifying the system, and while I do still remember my college days with fondness, I have not been a part of it since 2006, and I also know the key to making your story successful as an artist is to match what people are interested in today in 2025. ... and if you been watching what's been happening, our school system sucks now, and is only getting worse. If anything, it is now trendy to hate education. I once created a comic "UNTITLED School Of Art" which was basically grown from my own admiration for art and design college and did glorify it, and I cannot imagine bringing that back now because the economy, social climate, and opinions of everyone have changed. I know it will not be successful today. So to come back to #mythtaken, should I take the university element totally out of the equation, or KEEP it and have one or all of the characters drop out because they realized it's just not for them?
